Smith Design is a WBENC full-service Brand Design Agency based in NJ with over 40 years of experience in creating breakthrough visual solutions for brands to win in the marketplace. In addition to strategic brand design (visual branding, packaging, graphics, and structural concepts) we also extend visual and verbal strategy to various digital and physical touchpoints including social content development, web sites, in-store POS, activation, corporate identities, style guides, and environments.  We also have an in-house photography/videography studio, professional kitchen, and research facility to offer our clients a true full-service branding experience.

The Director of Account Management manages existing and new client relationships while partnering with the creative and strategy teams to ensure projects are being managed efficiently.  Acting as the client’s main point of contact, your primary focus will be developing strong, relationships with key members of the clients’ marketing and implementation teams.  You are expected to be a team leader and a brand keeper, responsible for managing the day-to-day while building and maintaining meaningful client relationships to drive future business growth.  This position is for our Morristown location.

  • Manage project budgets and design time expectations
  • Develop inspiring creative briefs and provide team with appropriate timelines
  • Manages brand and project teams to deliver highest standards of excellence
  • Ensures alignment with creative brief, account strategy, and understanding of client issues
  • Coordinates internal review meetings and client meetings as appropriate
  • Ensures smooth transition of the creative/strategic process to the production process
  • Organizes content, flow and materials with Design Director to create a compelling, thought-provoking presentation and representation of Smith Design
  • Provides client with distinct point-of-view on marketing, creative strategies, target audience, competitive set, trends, and opportunities for building brand awareness
  • Building/Maintaining Develops relationships with clients to support the procurement of repeat business
  • Seeks out opportunities to provide additional information on brand that is outside of project scope
  • Provides “added value” through the strength of the relationship and personal association

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years brand design experience
  • Ability to deliver design projects and exceptional work on time and budget
  • Manage projects and workflow through the studio
  • Prioritizes and plans realistic timelines and action plans
  • An in-depth understanding of strategic branding and package design
  • Excellent organizational skills accompanied with attention to detail
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Superior writing and editing ability for proposals and related client correspondence
  • Ability to multi-task and to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, deadline driven environment
  • Project Management and brand consultation skills
