Smith Design is a WBENC full-service Brand Design Agency based in NJ with over 40 years of experience in creating breakthrough visual solutions for brands to win in the marketplace. In addition to strategic brand design (visual branding, packaging, graphics, and structural concepts) we also extend visual and verbal strategy to various digital and physical touchpoints including social content development, web sites, in-store POS, activation, corporate identities, style guides, and environments.

The Brand Design Retoucher position is responsible for creating high-end imaging work, including high resolution retouching for concepts and final artwork and precise color adjustments. Also, provides “hands on” strategic image enhancement and illustration design to ensure that all imagery is presented and released beyond the clients expectation. Is creative and imaginative with an eye for color, balance and layout. Produces clean, crisp, eye appealing design. We seek high levels of creativity and fresh thinking.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • High level creative ideation and execution
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, liaising with designers
  • Perform retouching, precise color correction, image enhancement.
  • Create derivative images, including new compositions, extended backgrounds, color conversions, scaling, and positioning of elements
  • Enhance the design concept using a wide range of colors and graphics
  • Extremely detailed oriented and organized, finding imagery quickly and efficiently
  • Ensure color consistency for brand colors across all imagery
  • Manage workload to control cost and stay within budget
  • Ensure all work aligns with brand look, feel & guidelines.
  • Owning the retouching process from start to finish; starting with image release from photo to delivery of final assets to design
  • Partner with design team to bring new ideas to life testing updated ways of shooting and retouching.
  • Organizing files and adhering to digital naming convention, including tagging, labeling, and archiving
  • Forward thinking and keeping up with new technology and techniques as they come about

  • Stable, reliable, hardworking, flexible
  • Attention to detail, high work standards
  • Deadline driven, self motivator, and visionary
  • Keen ability to discern and apply color
  • Experience with Video editing

Job Specifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience
  • Background on leading CPG brands
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, especially, illustrator and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of some 3D programs
